I have this bad habit of volunteering myself to help with too many things at the same time. Especially when it comes to making food for things. I just can’t resist! For instance, I recently signed up to make a dessert for a parent volunteer appreciation event at the school where I teach, and it just happened to coincide with about a million other things I had to get done. When I need to make a dessert in a pinch like this, I always resort to Lazy Cookie Cake Bars, one of the very first recipes from Pinterest that I ever tried. They are seriously the easiest dessert that you can make, and you most likely have all the ingredients you need in your cabinet right now.
You only need 4 ingredients and about 25 minutes to make this dessert. Also, aside from being super easy and fast, these Lazy Cookie Cake Bars are delicious! They are always a hit when I bake them for different occasions. I usually make them with chocolate chips, because I always have some on hand, but you can use M&Ms or really any other chocolatey candy you might have in your cabinet. Regardless of what you decide to add to your bars, they will be a fast and easy way to save yourself when you get into the kind of situations like I typically do where you need to whip something yummy up in a hurry!
Ingredients:
– 1 box of yellow or white cake mix
– 2 eggs, beaten
– 5 tablespoons melted butter
– 2 cups chocolate chips, M&Ms, or chocolate candy
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees and line or spray a 9×13 pan.
2. Mix together all ingredients and spread evenly in the pan, making sure to cover the whole thing.
3. Bake for 20 minutes.
4. Let cool, then cut into bars.
Enjoy 🙂
