Cloth Diapers

Cloth diapers make me really happy. They save me loads of money, are a great way to be environmentally friendly and they help me keep nasty chemicals found in many disposable diapers away from my baby. What’s not to love? So, I was thrilled to be able to get the chance to try out Thirsties brand Natural One Size All In One cloth diapers! I’m even more thrilled that one of you will get the chance to win your own Thirsties brand cloth diaper! Just read to the end of my post to see how.

Kinds of Cloth

We don’t stick to any one brand or type of cloth diaper. I have some hand-me-downs from my nieces and various others that I’ve collected since my daughter was born. The majority of them are pocket diapers, which if you are new to cloth diapering means that you stuff each diaper with an absorbent insert before using it. The insert needs to then be removed before it and the cloth diaper can be washed. It’s not a ton of extra work, and we do love our pocket diapers, but it definitely can get a little time consuming if you use cloth every day. Thirsties carries all types of diapers, but I was excited to try their All In One because it is so darn simple to use!

If you are just starting out with cloth diapers and are a little overwhelmed with all the different types and choices, all in ones are really a great option! They require very little extra work. No prep needed! Just wash, put on your baby, and wash again! No stuffing or folding needed.

What I Thought

From the first time I felt the Thirsties All In One I was seriously impressed with the quality! They are produced in the US and I could really tell it felt well made. The interior layer is made of organic cotton as well as the two attached soaker pads, each made with 8 layers of hemp/organic cotton. The material is so soft to the touch and I know my little girl is super comfy in them! She can be a heavy wetter and so far we have not had any issues with leaking.

Another thing I really love about the Thirsties Natural All In One is that you can get them with a snap or hook and loop (velcro) closure. Most of our current cloth diapers are snaps, which are fine, but my daughter is such a wiggle worm! It can seriously feel like a wrestling match trying to get her still long enough to get a diaper on her. In my opinion, hook and loop closure is a lot easier and faster to get on and provides just as good of a fit, if not better!

The Thirsties All In One is a one size diaper. It is made to fit babies from 8-40 pounds.  Regardless of if you get snaps closure or hook and loop closure, there are snaps to adjust the rise. This helps to ensure a good customized fit. My daughter is almost a year and a little over 20 pounds and I still need to snap down one row to get a good snug fit. When I do this it really is a trim diaper! I know that some people who aren’t sure about the switch to cloth complain that they are too bulky. This is a great diaper to prove them wrong! Not bulky in the least!

Couldn’t Be Easier

Overall, I’ve been really impressed with this diaper so far! The fit and style are great and most importantly, it does it’s job without leaking! I think my absolute favorite thing about it though is how easy it is to use and care for! Kind of makes me wish all my diapers were all in ones! Ok, now that you’ve heard me get more excited over cloth diapering than a normal person probably should (#momlife) it’s your turn to enter to win a Thirsties cloth diaper! 1. I have mostly covers and prefold right now (first baby due in 2.5 weeks) but I love how trim this AIO looks!

  2. My favorite part is finding a diaper to match with an outfit or an occasion. My grandson looked so cute wearing his hot air balloon cover to attend his first hot air balloon fest. You could tell people noticed it too.

  3. Cloth diapers are better for the environment. Hoping it saves me money in the long run. I can also give them to someone else when I no longer need them.

  4. My favorite part about cloth diapering is I’m using natural materials on my baby. I also save money and of course they look too cute on! I have Thirsties pocket diapers and I use a fitted at nighttime with a hemp insert and duo wrap and it works great! I love that Thirsties is made in the USA.

  5. So many reasons why I love cloth! Saving money, never worrying about running out of diapers, environmental impact and because they are adorable!

  6. I’ve become a huge ambassador of cloth. Our favorite nighttime solution on my 8 month old is the thirsties natural all in one. We’re yet to have a leak in 12-14 hours of sleep. And, it’s so trim! I only have one and would love love love another!!!

Side note: most (if not all) pocket diapers these days are designed to agitate the inserts out in the wash. You probably don’t have to take the insert out before washing 😉

  7. My favorite part of cloth diapering is keeping disposables out of the landfill. A close second is the savings and adorable prints!

  8. I have been cloth diapering for about two months with my little one. I have to say I really enjoy using thirsties. My NAIOs I tend to use at daycare and I use their duo wraps at home with flats.

  9. I don’t think I can pick a favorite thing about cloth diapering… I like that they’re softer. They’re way cuter. They have a lot of flexibility in how way can be used, sizing, etc. i know they can be more economical but that’s probably not true when you fall in love with so many cute prints and beautiful colors.

  10. My favorite part of cloth diapering is that I know that I am putting only natural fibers against my little ones skin and that I get to pick a new color or new print each diaper change 🙂

  11. My favorite part of cloth diapering is how cute my baby’s bum looks! I currently have only duo wraps but now I feel like buying some NAIOs!

  12. My favorite part of cloth diapering is how much money it saves my one-income family! Because of cloth diapers, we were able to save up for a quality car seat instead of forking money out hand over fist for disposables! They are good on my babies bottom and on our wallets.
