Five Favorite Natural Newborn Products

Blog-5favoritenaturalnewbornproducts28129

I try to be as “green” as possible in my life.  To me, that means buying foods organic when I can,  steering clear of additives, etc.,  and using natural products in my home and on my body.  So, it was only natural (see what I did there?) that I would want to do the same when it came to my baby.  My husband has always been a little skeptical of my green ways, but goes along begrudgingly, knowing it is important to me.  I didn’t have to do much convincing when it came to products for our baby though.  It just makes sense to steer clear of harsh chemicals when it comes to a little, defenseless newborn, who is already facing new pesky germs and dangers that they didn’t have to deal with for almost 10 months.

I came up with a list of my top five favorite natural newborn products that we have trusted using on our little the past two months so that others who feel the same way about natural living can take my word that these products do what they say while staying green.

1. Babyganics Stain and Odor Remover

It goes without saying that babies poop…a lot.  Having 6 nieces and nephews who I’ve grown up babysitting, I knew this.  What I wasn’t as prepared for was that said poop will get on everything.  You think they are done pooping when you go to change them…but they NEVER ARE!  This  stain  remover came to the rescue of many onesies and changing pad covers, and got the poop stains out of them all!
2. Seventh Generation Newborn Diapers

Speaking of poop, we love these diapers!  I’ve been a fan of 7th Generations products for a while now.  I love that I can trust what’s in them and that they get the job done without being super pricey like some other natural brands.  These diapers don’t contain harsh chemicals and bleach like a lot of the diapers out there, while still doing a great job. The fact that they don’t have all the annoying cutesy baby characters, etc. on them is an added bonus in my book.
3. Earth Mama Angel Baby Bottom Balm

Still speaking of poop (notice a theme here?) this bottom balm has been da’ bomb when it comes to any irritation on our little girl’s bum.  It has been a rarity, thanks to the chemical free diapers, but at the first sign of any redness, we slathered a little of this amazing stuff on and by the next diaper change it was totally gone.  So much better than those other diaper creams that stink with who knows what kind of chemicals in them.
4. Burt’s Bees Burp Cloths

Moving on to the other bodily fluid that comes out of newborns frequently… spit up!  These 100% organic cotton burp cloths are soooo soft.  They are also thicker and more absorbent than most of the other burp cloths we have, making these our favorite to grab whenever we are in need of something absorbent around our little one.  We have loved all the Burt’s Bees Baby produts we’ve used so far, especially their organic, affordable and adorable baby clothes.

5. Angel Mama Angel Baby Nipple Butter

Just like their Bottom Balm, this stuff has been amazing.  I used it a lot in our early days with breastfeeding and am using it when I pump now too.  It is totally safe to use and I don’t have to worry about it coming into contact with Easton.  It’s also really soothing, especially if you pop it in the fridge before using it!  It works on all kinds of chapped skin too.  I’ve used it as lip balm when I was nursing Easton and my lips felt really chapped and it worked great!

So there are my top five favorite natural baby products that we’ve used the past two months.  This post isn’t sponsored, so you can trust that these really are my true opinions and I’d recommend any of these products in a second to any new moms looking to keep their newborn’s first few months as chemical free as possible!  What are your favorite natural baby products?
